Studies have proven that people who spend more time outside in nature have better physical and mental health. They have a more positive outlook on life. Nature proves to be helpful in every aspect of our life e.g. diseases, performance, development and much more. In general life, we also see that villagers have better immunity for diseases in comparison to urban people. They are safe from many diseases caused by pollution or work stress.

Nature helps in learning

Research shows that children who spend time around plants learn better. In addition, being around natural environments improves the ability of children with Attention Deficit Disorder to focus, concentrate, and engage more with their surrounding environment. Walking in a natural environment with plants and trees, even when located in the middle of a city, has been shown to improve attention and memory,

Spending time in natural environments makes people better at doing their jobs. It also increases energy levels and feelings of vitality.

Studies show that people who spend time cultivating plants have less stress in their lives. Plants soothe human beings and provide a positive way for people to channel their stress into nurturing. Neighborhoods that incorporate community green spaces have lower incidences of stress, have lower health care costs, and have an improved quality of life. Studies show that just looking at plants and trees, even through a window, can reduce stress and lower blood pressure. People who spend time cultivating plants have less stress in their lives. Calming and cooling effect

Most of us recognise the calming effect of a walk by the river or along a beach. Victorian doctors used to prescribe the “sea air” as a cure for an assortment of agues and ailments. Grass is much cooler than asphalt or cement. It acts as an “air conditioner” for the surrounding area. In fact, lawns can be 31 degrees cooler than asphalt and 20 degrees cooler than bare soil. But wait, there’s more. Trees shading homes can reduce attic temperatures by as much as 40 degrees.

Healing effect

The presence of plants in hospital recovery rooms and/or views of aesthetically-pleasing gardens help patients to heal faster, due to the soothing affects of ornamental horticulture.

The positive effects of birdsong on humans is well documented. The sounds of birds, especially songbirds, has consistently shown to improve mood and mental alertness. An experiment with British schoolchildren found that students listening to birdsong were more attentive after lunch than those who didn’t listen. In its relaxation lounge, Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport plays birdsong to soothe weary travelers. “People love it,” writes Florence Williams in “The Nature Fix.”

Noise Reducion

Lawns and plants dramatically reduce noise pollution; they can reduce noise levels by 20 percent to 30 percent over hard surfaces like concrete and pavement.
